Welcome
to the most fun you've ever had workng hard! We're going to have a great year as
long as everyone buys right into whatever we do. You will find me quite
possesive....I love what I do and when you are in with me you are MINE! But....
I am yours, too. I will give you a 125% effort at all times, and you can count
on my support.
Having said that, are you
ready?
School Year 2005 - 06
1. Pick up and sign out a text and Study
Guide CD(Campbell & Reece, 6th ed.)
2. Start to familiarize yourself with the CD…especially the “Activities” under any Chapter heading…good animations!
3. Read, read, read.....anything biological. I draw my examples from many sources: books, magazines, newspapers. You have to like words in this course, it is filled with terms....play with the language!
4. Try to recall all those great sci-fi films, there are many lessons (good and bad) to be found there.
5. Watch TV with an eye for biology: the nightly news, Dateline and 48 Hours specials, The Discovery Channel. #3, 4 and 5 just make for more enriching classroom discussions.
6. Why, we even have a few favorite songs and food labs! I will attempt to stimulate all your senses in an effort to turn you into a biologist.
7. History! History is a great place to find weird and interesting lessons in Biology! (Rasputin, JFK's Addison's Disease, George III's Madness, The Black Death, Mozart's death, etc.)
8.And, keep checking this site for additions/ improvements and email me anytime!
Let’s have a great year!
