Assorted letters and diary entries

Make up a series of letters and/or diary entries primarily in the voice of a Lowell mill girl sometime between 1835-1850. Begin with the girl leaving home to work in the mills and end with her leaving the mills at least one year later. You are striving to make this as realistic and believable as possible. You are also encouraged to make it "look" as if it came from the time period.
Suggested length: 1200 words.

One of the best examples of student work for this assignment was the package of letters done by Andrea Doenges. To read these letters click on the knot in the image to the right. Enjoy!
