Toban Crosby:   Senior

On June first we left Grand Isle and set off for North Hero where it would be our
last destination/overnight camp ground.  This paddle consisted of 20 miles.  When we
first got on the water we were not sure where we would be staying.  We stopped at an
island for lunch where there were perfect skipping rocks.  We all had a blast at seeing
who could skip the most and the highest.  Being out in the woods and in a canoe for so
long makes those little things very enjoyable.  So, while at the island eating lunch the
teachers Mr. Hooker and Mr. Peterson made several calls about where we were going to
stay that night.  I spoke up and had said to them "lets just continue eight more miles and
stay where we know is definite and nice" they stuck with that plan and that's how we
managed to get home a day early; it made everyone happy.
At North Hero the bugs were ferocious and they drove me along with everyone
crazy.  They seriously acted like they hadn't seen human flesh for ages.  Personally I
thought that North Hero was the worst place to stay other than being able to set a tent up
in the Lean-to and the shower was very nice.  Well, a couple more days and we're off for
home.
