Florence to Middlebury
 Today was the longest day on the water that we are doing this whole trip.  28
miles from Otter Valley High School to Middlebury High School.  This paddle we had to
make a few portages around snags in the river.  By lunch we were right on schedule
because we made good time on the water but got held back on the second portage.  We
went under a bridge when a train was going over.  The final leg of the trip was very tough
to stay focused.  My muscles were aching!!!  Mr. Hooker and I were leading most of the
way, quite a distance from the rest of the group.  We pulled into Middlebury at 5:15 and
unpacked and headed for home for the weekend.  I am looking forward to being out on
the water for good the next two weeks.
