Today we set out for Converse Bay.  But it was no ordinary day.  Today there
strong winds, which created waves about a foot and a half high.  We had a little bit of
trouble setting out today because of the wind and waves.  It took about an half hour just to
get all the boats into the water.  It was really cool trying to get out of Button Bay because
we were heading into the waves.  Susan and I were having lots of fun trying to catch some
air, and we did too.  We got about half the canoe out of the water when three big rolling
waves came at us.  When we finally got out of Button Bay we headed North again to
Converse bay.  The cool part is that the wind was at our backs, but about half and hour
after we got out of Button Bay it started to Thunder Storm.  This was kind of scary
because this is one of the first times I have been on the water in the worst possible
conditions, and in a little canoe to top things off.  After a while, we came up to Basin
Harbor where we tried to get out of the storm.
We landed on a private yacht club type place.  And Susan, being it is her birthday today,
decided to get into her "Birthday Suit" and dry off her clothing, as a guy in a dump truck
watched her though binoculars.  About 5 minutes after we got out of the water the storm
went away and the sun came out, the wind stop blowing,  and the lake turned calm and
beautiful.  So we set out again to Converse Bay.  When we got there we found out that it
was infested with mosquitoes, which made this place kind of suck.  I tried to cover as
much skin as possible.  We then hiked about 2 and a half miles to the spot were they
found the Charlotte Whale.  When we got back to our camp site, Susan's mom was there and Mr. Peterson's wife also showed up for our food drop.  Other people's parents showed up to and they all brought lots of food.  We all ate so well that day, we had pizza, pie's, cheese cake, and chocolate covered strawberries.  After dinner was pretty much the end of out day, most people went  into there tents to get away from the mosquito's.
