Jesse Smith: Junior
Today was very tough. We reached the end of the Otter Creek and took a short cut on to Lake Champlain. When we first got on the lake it looked as though it was going to be easy. But when we made it to the point the wind picked up and was blowing right in our faces. The lake also has a current that was not in our favor. The waves were 1 to 2 feet high and were hard to manage. At least it wasn’t too long a trip to Button Bay. When we reached Button Bay it was rewarding because it had all the necessary facilities. I think it will be great to stay here for two days because we will be able to rejuvenate ourselves for the long trip ahead. So far we managed to dodge most of the rain showers except for last night. Hopefully we will steer clear of the rain for the days ahead.
