Town Bio
Woodstock was founded in 1761, when the New Hampshire Government split the Queeche Valley into 60 equal shares. The original settlers were awed by the untamed wilderness of Woodstock. In 1765 Timothy Knox built the first official homestead. Much of historic Woodstock still exists today. Sights like Billings Farm, and the Woodstock Inn are commonly explored by visitors. The simple Vermont charm of Woodstock makes it one of the most vistited towns in the state. With a population of less than 1000 the streets of Woodstock are never crowded and touring the beautiful country side is easy. This doesn't mean the real estate market in Woodstock is slow, with the average house selling for about $150,000 more than houses in the rest of Vermont. Even if you're not planning on buying, a quick weekend getaway is more than enough. The shopping in historic downtown provides a plethora of hidden treasures, and the comfortable inns will give you a nights sleep that won't be forgotton. For the more adventurous, a trip to Suicide 6, or Killington could be just the thing. Come discover Woodstock and you won't be dissapointed.
